Laur

Laur,[1][2][3][4] Lava,[5] Lavi or Lor[6] is a major clan of the Gurjar community of northern Indian states of Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Hindu Gujjars in Gujarat and Rajasthan are mostly divided into two groups: the Khari or Khadwa and the Laur or Lava. These two are further split up into numerous clans..[3][7]

Lava Gujjars and Khari Gujjars are further Devided into many clansand generally both have equal status. But Usually Laur Gurjars consider themselves as more inferior/superior from the Khare/Khari or Khadwa Gurjars and Laur and Khari Gurjars some time avoid intermarriages.[2][4][6]

Laur Gurjars are numerous found in many areas of Gujarat and Rajasthan, Including the Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Girnar, Bharatpur,[7] Jaipur,[8] Alwar, Kota, Karoli, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Mewar, Sirohi[3] and many other districts in the states.
