Distinguished Research Professors / University Professors edit

The ranks of "Distinguished Research Professor"[114] and "University Professor"[115] are the highest a professor can achieve at York University. There may be at most thirty of either type at any time.[116] The title of Distinguished Research Professor is awarded to faculty who have made outstanding contributions to the university through their work in research,[117] while a University Professor has "demonstrated a commitment to participation in University life and/or contribution to the University as a community" as well as teaching and scholarship.[118]
