Turtwig Naetoru (ナエトル)[2] 0387 Grass Beginning of evolution Grotle (#388) Its shell is made from hardened soil, and it hardens even more when it drinks water. On a very healthy Turtwig, its shell should feel slightly damp and warm to the touch. It uses photosynthesis across its whole body, making oxygen in the process. If it is thirsty, the leaves on its head start to wilt. It becomes more energetic the more sunlight there is.
Grotle Hayashigame (ハヤシガメ)[3] 0388 Grass Turtwig (#387) Torterra (#389) It lives along water in the forest and it sometimes leaves the forest to sunbathe. Its shell is hardened soil, though sometimes bird Pokémon like to live on its back and peck at the berries growing on it. The fruit that grows on the shrubs on its shell is sweet, nutritious, and truly delicious. They say each Grotle that lives in the forest has its own secret springwater since they know where pure water wells up at.
Torterra Dodaitosu (ドダイトス)[4] 0389 Grass Ground Grotle (#388) End of evolution It appears to be based on Ankylosaurus, but it is actually a turtle, and it is also based on the common myth of the World Turtle. Occasionally, small Pokémon gather in the tree on its back and spend their whole life there. Groups of migrating Torterra have been mistaken as moving forests. Ancient people believed that underneath the earth, a large Torterra dwelled. Some say it would serve beautifully as garden scenery and its strength is immense. It roams the wilderness in search of clean, fresh water to drink.
Chimchar Hikozaru (ヒコザル)[5] 0390 Fire Beginning of evolution Monferno (#391) Chimchar has fire coming out of its rear-end.[6] It produces gas in its belly that creates the fire, even rain cannot put it out.

Piplup Potchama (ポッチャマ)[3] 0393 Water Beginning of evolution Prinplup (#394) It is a proud Pokémon, and because of this, it hates accepting food from people and it will not easily listen to its trainer, so bonding and caring for it will be really tough. It is a great swimmer, yet a poor walker, as it can dive for up to 10 minutes just to hunt but it also falls down on land a lot too. It lives in cold climates in Northern countries and its thick guard protects it from the cold. Piplup plays a prominent role in the anime as the Pokémon partner of Dawn.
Prinplup Pottaishi (ポッタイシ)[8] 0394 Water Piplup (#393) Empoleon (#395) It tends to live alone, and because every one of them believes it is the most important, they can never form a group. Empoleon Enperuto (エンペルト)[3] 0395 Water Steel Prinplup (#394) End of evolution Empoleon is based on an emperor penguin and Napoleon. Its English name is likely a combination of "emperor" and "Napoleon", though it may also take from "south pole". Its Japanese name is likely derived from "emperor" and "Bonaparte", Napoleon's surname. Its three horns that extend from its head attest to its power. The one with the biggest horns is the leader. It usually avoids unnecessary conflict, yet if anything were to hurt its pride, it will slash them with wings so sharp, it could cleave through an ice flow as it swims as fast as a jet boat. Since ancient times, it was feared and named the "Master of the Waves". Its wings are a match for even master crafted blades.
Starly Mukkuru (ムックル)[3] 0396 Normal Flying Beginning of evolution Staravia (#397) Starly and its evolutions are based on grey starlings. Starly can be quite noisy, especially in a flock. Even when small, their wings are powerful, getting hit by one will leave you sore for a week.
Staravia Mukubādo (ムクバード)[8] 0397 Normal Flying Starly (#396) Staraptor (#398) It flies around forests and fields in search of bug-type Pokémon. It stays within a huge flock, though they often fight among themselves. Some people say that the larger the plume on Staravia's head, the stronger it is
Staraptor Mukuhōku (ムクホーク)[9] 0398 Normal Flying Staravia (#397) End of evolution When Staravia evolve into Staraptor, they go solitary for the rest of their life. Because of how strong their wings are, the can carry very large prey.
Bidoof Bippa (ビッパ)[10] 0399 Normal Beginning of evolution Bibarel (#400) Bidoof is based on beavers and gophers, likely the mountain beaver specifically due to its lack of a tail. Bidoof's English name is likely derived from "beaver" and "doofus", slang for "stupid person". It is also possible that part of the name is derived from "shadoof", which is a device used to irrigate water. Its Japanese name may be taken from "beaver", and "deppa" (出っ歯), meaning "protruding tooth". With nerves of steel, nothing can perturb it. It is more agile and active than it appears. It constantly gnaws on logs and rocks to whittle down its front teeth. It nests alongside the water. There have been incidents involving Bidoof sauntering into villages and gnawing on the houses without a single care. A comparison revealed that Bidoof's front teeth grow at the same rate as Rattata's.

Living along clear ponds, it is really sensitive to temperature as the bud is said to open when it feels the warm sun's touch. If its bud starts to open, it means spring is right around the corner, and if it is raised alongside clean water, the toxicity of its poison will increase.
Roserade Rozureido (ロズレイド)[8] 0407 Grass Poison Roselia (#315) End of evolution With movements like a dancer, Roserade attracts prey with a sweet smelling aroma, and then finishes them off with its whips which are densely lined with toxic thorns. Each hand contains a different type of poison. One is fast acting poison, and one is slow acting poison, and while it can jab with near-fatal power, both are really deadly. Yanmega Megayanma (メガヤンマ)[5] 0469 Bug Flying Yanma (#193) End of evolution Its long tail helps it balance itself when carrying something as big as an adult human. Its extremely violent, it will waste no time or energy going straight for its prey's most vital openings. Training this Pokémon will require a lot of bravery.
Leafeon Rīfia (リーフィア)[50] 0470 Grass Eevee (#133) End of evolution It likes clean air because it uses photosynthesis just like a plant. It is not one to fight, but if it has to, it can sharpen its tail like a sword and its sharp enough to cut large trees. Galarian people favor the distinctive aroma that drifts from this Pokémon's leaves. There's a popular perfume made using that scent. Its cells are found to be just like plants too. The younger they are, the more they smell like fresh grass. With age, their fragrance takes on the odor of fallen leaves.
Glaceon Gureishia (グレイシア)[7] 0471 Ice Eevee (#133) End of evolution It can freeze the moisture into ice and fire it and it can drop its body temperature below -75 °F if it needs to. It can cause snow to form in the air, so it is quite popular in ski resorts.
Gliscor Guraion (グライオン)[7] 0472 Ground Flying Gligar (#207) End of evolution It observes prey while hanging upside down from branches, and when the chance comes, it swoops. Its flight is soundless, and when catching prey, its long tail picks them up and its elongated fangs do the rest. If it surprises prey, it can land a critical hit in an instant. After it drains them of their blood, it takes on a look of satisfaction. If it succeeds in catching even the slightest breeze, it can circle the globe without flapping its wings once.
Mamoswine Manmū (マンムー)[7] 0473 Ice Ground Piloswine (#221) End of evolution Its population thinned after the earth warmed up because its twin tusks are which are made of ice.
Porygon-Z Porigon Z (ポリゴンZ)[11] 0474 Normal Porygon2 (#233) End of evolution It has not appeared in the anime due to the episode "Dennō Senshi Porygon," which caused Japanese children to have seizures in 1997. Additional software was installed in it, hoping to make it better. However it began acting really strange. The developer of the bizarre disc that was used might have had some bugs. It was modified to allow it to travel through alien dimensions, though it didn't work as planned. Not even academics really know if Porygon-Z can truly be considered an evolution.
Gallade Erureido (エルレイド)[8] 0475 Psychic Fighting Kirlia (#281) Mega Evolution This male-only Pokémon, along with Gardevoir, seem to be a current relative to Iron Valiant. True to its honorable warrior image, it is a master of courtesy and swordsmanship, and it can extend its elbows into blades and fight savagely, but it usually does this to protect something or someone. Because it can sense what its foe is thinking, its attacks burst out first, fast, and fierce. Sharply attuned to others' wishes for help, this Pokémon seeks out those in need and aids them in battle. The blades extending from its elbows are sharper than the finest swords. Its swordsmanship, albeit self-taught, is astonishingly impressive. It evolves from Kirlia using a Dawn Stone.
Probopass Dainōzu (ダイノーズ)[10] 0476 Rock Steel Nosepass (#299) End of evolution It controls its three "mini-noses" at its sides to attack or hunt for food, but sometimes it could lose them if its not careful.
Dusknoir Yonowāru (ヨノワール)[5] 0477 Ghost Dusclops (#356) End of evolution The antenna on its head acts as a radar. Some say that it is a radar to tell Dusknoir to take spirits to the underworld.
Froslass Yukimenoko (ユキメノコ)[10] 0478 Ice Ghost Snorunt (#361) End of evolution It is a female-only Pokémon whose design is inspired by the Japanese yōkai Yuki-onna, a vengeful spirit that takes the form of a woman and traps its victims with its icy breath or within blizzards.[51] If you are inside your house (and trapped in a blizzard), you should always try to be careful. When you hear a knocking at your door, always check before you answer because it might be a wild Froslass, which can surprisingly freeze you to death instantly if you are not careful.
Rotom Rotomu (ロトム)[5] 0479 Electric Ghost No evolution It has a body made of plasma, and its known as a troublesome Pokémon, wreaking havoc upon others. It will happily blow away any kind of important documents you might have. It whips up powerful winds that really blows people away. It then smirks after a prank well pulled. Out of all the machines it can use, the first one was an electric fan.
Electric Grass[nb 6] and "Mow Rotom" by possessing a lawnmower. Mow Rotom inhabits a lawnmower made just for it. As it mows down grass and any flowers you were growing, it scatters the clippings everywhere, then proudly swaggers around, cheering about its accomplishments. The final member of the Trio of Creation, this Legendary Pokémon has complete control of antimatter and can use it to make all common knowledge distorted and strange. It appears in myths and legends. Because of its violence, it was banished to the Distortion World, a universe where all knowledge is confusing, and it gazes from there. It sometimes appears in cemeteries. There is one Hisuian verse that tells of a powerful light creating a deep shadow. That deep shadow could be Giratina. In order to change between the Altered and Origin forms, the player must give it the Griseous Orb. It is the only Pokémon capable of learning the move Shadow Force.
Cresselia Kureseria (クレセリア)[56][10] 0488 Psychic No evolution Part of the Lunar Duo, one who holds Cresselia's feather can make a Darkrai's horrible nightmare vanish and have joyful dreams. Cresselia represents the crescent moon.
Phione Fione (フィオネ)[57] 0489 Water No evolution It can only be obtained by breeding Manaphy, however Phione are incapable of evolving into Manaphy. It is a member of the Sea Guardian Duo along with Manaphy. These Mythical Pokémon live in packs in warm seas. It inflates its sac on its head to drift and look for food. It always returns to where it was born, no matter how far way it may have drifted. Its azure body blends in with the surrounding water, theoretically being a defense mechanism. It is based on Clione Limacina, and its English name is a portmanteau of the last syllable of Manaphy and the word Clione.
Manaphy Manafi (マナフィ)[58] 0490 Water No evolution Manaphy is other member of the Sea Guardian Duo along with Phione. Manaphy was the last Pokémon in the Sinnoh Pokédex before the Platinum expansion. This Mythical Pokémon lives on the cold sea floor. It always returns to where it was born, no matter how far way it had drifted. Water makes up 80% of its small body, so it is easily affected by its environment. It is born with a wondrous power to let it befriend any creature. It greatly resembles Phione, though the relation is unclear. It is based on Clione Limacina.
Darkrai Dākurai (ダークライ)[11] 0491 Dark No evolution Darkrai was officially revealed in February 2007. It is the other and last member of the Lunar Duo together with Cresselia. Though it means no harm, it can lull people to nightmarish sleep to protect its territory on moonless nights.
Shaymin Sheimi (シェイミ)[3] 0492 Grass No evolution "Land Forme"

Shaymin has a second Forme activated by using a Gracidea flower in the daytime. Shaymin's Sky Forme will revert to its Land Forme during the night, while frozen solid, or if deposited in the PC. Its Land Forme is based on a hedgehog. This Mythical Pokémon lives in flower patches and avoids detection by curling up to blend in. It can dissolve toxins in the air, instantly transforming devastated lands into beautiful paradises. If hugged and loved enough, beautiful flowers will appear all over its body. When winter ends and spring begins, people in Hisui celebrate and Shaymin comes to cover the land with lush flowers.

Grass Flying "Sky Forme"

As opposed to its original Land Forme, Shaymin becomes the Grass/Flying-type Sky Forme. Shaymin was officially revealed in February 2008, when it was listed as a star of Giratina and the Sky Warrior. In early June of the same year, its Sky Forme was revealed and based on a deer and an angel. When this Mythical Pokémon smells the scent of the particularly rare Gradicea flower, its tiny body transforms into this form. Some people also smelled the flower, but their bodies remain unchanged.

Arceus Aruseusu (アルセウス)[13] 0493 Normal No evolution Arceus is a white llama-like Pokémon with a golden arch on its back. It serves as the creator deity for the Pokémon universe. The Pokémon's name in both English and Japanese may be derived from the Ancient Greek word "arkhé" (αρχή), meaning "origin" or "beginning". It may also be derived from "alpha", "deus", a Latin word meaning "god", or "archeus", a part of the astral plane in alchemy.[59] When exposed to a plate of a specific type, Arceus changes its type and color to match that plate.[60] With the Legend Plate, however, Arceus' type changes dynamically to whichever would be the most effective on the opponent.[61][62] Arceus debuted in the movie Arceus and the Jewel of Life, where it serves as one of the film's main characters.[63] In the Pokémon universe, Arceus is known as "The Original One", as it is told in mythology that it emerged from an egg before the universe even existed, and that it "shaped all there is in this world".[64][65] It is also said to have created several Legendary Pokémon with its "1,000 arms".[66][67] It appears in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, where it takes a central role.[68] Arceus also stars in Pokémon: The Arceus Chronicles, a miniseries that takes some inspiration from Legends: Arceus.[69] It along with Smeargle are the only two Pokémon that can learn its signature move Judgement.[70] This Mythical Pokémon is the creator of all things. It is described in myths and legends as the Pokémon that was born from an egg into nothing and shaped the world with it 1,000 arms. It is the protector of all as well.
