Calendar Edit

The South African Grand Prix returned to the calendar after being dropped in 1964.

The French Grand Prix was moved from Rouen-Les-Essarts to Charade Circuit for a year.

The British Grand Prix was moved from Brands Hatch to Silverstone, in keeping with the event-sharing arrangement between the two circuits.

The Dutch Grand Prix was moved from the middle of May to the middle of July.

The Austrian Grand Prix was originally scheduled for August 22nd but was cancelled after safety complaints made by the teams and drivers about the roughness of the Zeltweg Airfield.[2]

Season summary Edit

Jim Clark's second championship included six wins interrupted only by non-starting at Monaco whilst he was away winning the Indianapolis 500. Jackie Stewart finished third in the championship in his debut season and Richie Ginther won his only, and Honda's first, Grand Prix in the final race of the 1.5-litre formula.
