Karthavarayuni Katha

Karthavarayuni Katha (transl. Story of Karthavaraya) is a 1958 Indian Telugu-language Hindu mythological film, produced and directed by T. R. Ramanna under the R. R. Pictures banner.[2][3] It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Savitri[4] with music composed by G. Ramanadhan and Ashwathama.[5] The film was simultaneously made as the Tamil movie Kathavarayan (1958) by the same banner and director.

Plot edit

Once Parvati suspects her husband Shiva, and declares penance for atonement. So, she grounds at Varanasi, where Siva creates a garden and a foster son Karthavaraya as guardian. Once Karthavaraya tries to molest a lady who is sightseeing, and she attempts suicide. Whereat, Siva curses Karthavaraya when Parvati tries to pacify him, so, she too blasted to come forth on earth. Now Parvati arises as Kamakshi with Karthavaraya as a baby and the lady as Aryamala the daughter of an Arya king. Karthavaraya grows up in tribes and then proceeds toward his mother who blesses him with the supernatural power of changing intended forms. Currently, he starts touring, when gets acquainted with Aryamala and they fall in love. Knowledge of it, Kamakshi alarms him it is hazardous to the club with Aryamala, which he deaf ears. Therefrom, Karthavaraya frequently attends the palace in different forms and knits Aryamala as a Brahmin. The Arya King denies it, when Karthavaraya is seized, in that chaos, Aryamala is gravely injured. Hereupon, Karthavaraya is ruthlessly towed and edicts the death penalty. Therein, Kamakshi lands and begs the king for pardon but in vain. Hence, she flares up with a call to Siva which creates an apocalypse and collapses the fort. At last, Kamakshi transforms into Parvati and backs to Kailasam. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with the fusing of Karthavaraya & Aryamala.
