Jidon Adams,^[1] better known online as JiDion, is an American YouTuber and streamer who produces comedic vlogging content and prank videos.

Career

YouTube

Adams started his YouTube channel in 2019 with a video of him attempting to resell various items at his high school.^[3] His first viral video came around in early 2019 with the video "Giving Strangers The N-Word PASS".^[4] In his comedic videos, Adams uses the pseudonym "DeMarcus Cousins III" when being asked by strangers what his name is or when giving his name out to people. This fake name comes from NBA player DeMarcus Cousins.

In December 2021, Adams attempted to get an autograph from the real DeMarcus Cousins, which prompted a stadium security guard to try and halt the interaction. Cousins told the security guard that he was "taking [his] job too serious" and went on to sign Adams's jersey.^[5] In March 2022, he crashed a Harvard University life sciences lecture for a comedy video.^[6][7] He also pretended to get a haircut during a Houston Rockets game.

During a 2022 video in which Adams got a haircut during a game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks, the Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban, approached Jidon and spoke about how his son loves watching his videos.^[8]

Adams's YouTube channel has 7.69 million subscribers as of 14th August 2023.^{[citation needed]}

Twitch

In January 2022, Adams was permanently banned from Twitch for "extreme harassment".^[9] The harassment consisted of a Twitch "raid", where Adams instructed his viewers to comment something in the chat feature of another streamer's content. In Adams' case, he had his fanbase spam "L + ratio" in the chat of a Twitch streamer Pokimane.

Rumble

In April 2023 Adams announced a partnership with the alt-tech platform Rumble, where he would exclusively livestream.^[10] His first stream was on April 8, 2023, where he recorded himself at to UFC 287 with Adin Ross, Sneako, and others. He also met figures such as Mike Tyson and Donald Trump.

Collaborations

Adams has collaborated with other famous YouTubers and Twitch streamers, primarily Adin Ross, who was largely based on Twitch and now the streaming site Kick. He has also collaborated with Kai Cenat, KSI, Sneako, Pokimane, Fulcrum, Skeeter Jean, and Niko Omilana. His series with Omilana, known as 'The Biggest Menace' involved the two YouTubers engaging in a large-scale prank war.^{[citation needed]}

Controversies

In October 2021, Adams uploaded a video where he was kicked out of a Best Buy by an employee, due to Adams entering the store shirtless. Later on that day of recording, he brought a large group of other shirtless men inside the Best Buy in order to harass the employee who had kicked him out.^[11]

In January 2022, he was accused of harassment by Twitch streamer Pokimane over misogynistic remarks about her appearance and relationship status.^[12][13]

In June 2022, he was ejected from the Tower of London for attempting to get a reaction from an on-duty Royal Guard.^[14]

In July 2022, Adams was accused by fellow YouTuber TommyInnit of harassing fans at TwitchCon, although footage of the incident can potentially disprove this.^[15] That same month, he was banned from Wimbledon for his disruptive antics (which included repeatedly sounding an airhorn) during the quarterfinal match between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.^[16]

In September 2022, he was removed from the 2022 US Open men's finals after getting a haircut during the match.^{[16][17][18][19][20]}

In March 2023, he was arrested for trespassing in the Galleria, a mall in Houston, Texas.^[21] That same month, he was arrested for hanging up a painting of the Mona Lisa with his face on it in the Louvre in Paris, France.^[22]

On April 10, 2023, Adams disclosed that there was a warrant for his arrest in Houston over a prank video he uploaded in collaboration with fellow content creator "damii." In the video, Adams presented a former college professor with a teddy bear, balloon, and flowers for Valentines Day. The duo caused a disruption and eventually were promptly told to leave by the professor, who threatened to call Houston Police. A case was filed in March and a warrant was issued, though it is currently listed as inactive.^[23]
