Shurasena
Shurasena (Sanskrit: शूरसेन, Śūrasena) was an ancient Yadava ruler of Mathura. He was married to a Nāga (or serpent) woman named Marisha. She bore all of his children and was the cause for Vasuki’s boon to Bhima.[2][3][4] after whom the Surasena Kingdom or mahajanpada and the Yadava sect of Surasenas [5] were named.

Shurasena or Shoorsaini[6] was father of Vasudeva (himself father of Vāsudeva-Krishna) and Kunti (mother of Karna and the 5 Pandavas)[7] He is extensively mentioned in both the Mahabharata and the Puranas as the father of Vasudeva (father of Krishna) and Kunti (mother of Pandavas).
