Taghenkuh District

Not to be confused with Taghenkuh-e Jonubi Rural District or Taghenkuh-e Shomali Rural District.

Taghenkuh District (Persian: بخش طاغنکوه) is in Firuzeh County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.^[3] Its capital is the city of Hemmatabad.^[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population (as a part of Nishapur County) was 22,562 in 5,662 households.^[5] The following census in 2011 counted 21,226 people in 6,087 households,^[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Firuzeh County.^[3] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 16,752 inhabitants in 5,302 households.^[2]

After the census, the village of Garmab was elevated to the status of a city.^[7]
