The film is about the life-changing journey of a young Pakistani cricketer (Abbas Hasan) and a college student (Archana Kavi) who is an ardent admirer of him.[1] Principal photography of the film began in September 2010, and is being completed from Kannur and Thalassery, Kerala.[5] It is to be distributed by Sree Gokulam Films.[1]

Cast

Casting

The film's protagonist is Yassin Mubarak Azad, a Pakistani cricketer who comes to Kerala on a mission. Pakistani fast bowler Mohammed Asif was originally cast in this role but was replaced when he was found involved in a match fixing scandal.[6] Kaithapram then signed Pakistani batsman Mohammad Hafeez in the role.[7] He was also replaced due to his busy cricket schedules.[1] Kaithapram's final choice was Abbas Hasan, a Canadian-born, Paris-raised, and London-based Pakistani singer.[8] Hasan is on his acting debut through this film. Malayalee cricketer Sreesanth was also reportedly considered for playing an important role.[5] After Sreesanth was arrested on charges of spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League, Kaithapram announced that he would be cutting out those scenes featuring the cricketer from the film.[9]

Soundtrack

The film's music is by Deepankuran. The soundtrack album was launched by actor Mammootty on 3 January 2011, at Gokulam Auditorium, Kochi.[10]
