The Federal University Otuoke[1] is a federal government-owned University sited in Otuoke, a town in Ogbia local government area[2] of Bayelsa State,[3] Southern Nigeria.[4][5] The university is one of the nine new Federal Universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria[6][7] in February 2011 under the administration of president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan.[8][9] Federal University Otuoke is suited in the heart of the oil-rich[10] Niger-Delta Region of Bayelsa State.[11] The university was established in 2011 and started with 282 pioneer students.[12] The university[13] currently have six (6) faculties and offers degree courses at undergraduate levels.[14] The university offers undergraduate programs[15] in the faculty of Science, Management Science,[16]Social Science and Humanities,[17] Education, Engineering and Technology. The university is a Partner of Sustainable Public Procurement.[18]

Expulsion of students involved in examination malpractice

FUOTUOKE has been known for expelling students who are involve in cultism and examination malpractice. On Thursday, March 28, 2019, FUOTUOKE expelled 12 students. As at the time of the expulsion, five of the students were 200 level while the other seven students were in 300 level.[21] Details of the student expelled [22] has been giving.[23] Also, on Dec 6, 2019, Twenty nine students of the Federal University of Otuoke in Ogbia Local Government Council of Bayelsa State were expelled for their alleged involvement in activities of cultism and examination malpractices.[24]
