Eshaqabad, Zeberkhan

Eshaqabad (Persian: اسحق اباد, also Romanized as Esḩāqābād and Es’hāq Ābād)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Eshaqabad District of Zeberkhan County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran, and also serves as the capital of Eshaqabad Rural District.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 3,810 in 988 households, when it was a village in Eshaqabad Rural District of the former Zeberkhan District of Nishapur County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 4,149 people in 1,224 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,288 people in 1,312 households.[2]

After the census, Zeberkhan District was separated from Nishapur County in the establishment of Zeberkhan County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Qadamgah as its capital and only city.[4] The village of Eshaqabad has been elevated to the status of a city.[7]
