Braden Huff is an American college basketball player for the Gonzaga Bulldogs of the West Coast Conference (WCC).

Early life and high school edit

Huff attended high school at Glenbard West. In his senior season, Huff averaged 17.5 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game.[1] During Huff's high school career he He led Glenbard West High School to a state title and won the Illinois Mr. Basketball.[2] Coming out of high school, Huff was rated as a four star recruit, the 33rd overall forward, and the 4th ranked prospect in the state of Illinois for the 2022 recruiting class.[3] Huff also held offers from schools such as Gonzaga, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa, Illinois, Creighton, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin.[4] Ultimately, Huff decided to commit to play college basketball for the Gonzaga Bulldogs.[5][6]

College career edit

2022-23 season edit

In Huff's first season during the 2022-23 season, Huff decided to use the season to redshirt and did not appear in any games.[7]

2023-24 season edit

In Huff's first career game in Gonzaga's season opener, Huff came off the bench to score 19 points and grab nine rebounds as he helped the Bulldogs come back from a double digit deficit to defeat Yale. [8]On January 20th, 2024, Huff scored a career high 26 points in a win over San Diego.[9] Against Portland, Huff dropped 25 points, while also grabbing seven rebounds and making three assists.[10] Coming off, Huff's performance versus Portland, during a road win versus the Kentucky Wildcats, Huff helped contribute to the win scoring 12 points.[11] For his performance during the regular season, Huff was named to the WCC all freshman team.[12] During the second round of the 2023-24 NCAA tournament, Huff scored eleven points in a win over Kansas.[13]
