2024 Maine State Senate election

The 2024 Maine State Senate election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, with the primary election using instant-runoff voting to be held on July 11, 2024, to elect the 132nd Maine Senate.[1] Voters in all 35 districts of the Maine State Senate will elect their senators. The elections will coincide with the elections for other offices, including for U.S. President, U.S. Senate, U.S. House and the Maine House of Representatives.

Current term limit laws prevent individuals from serving more than four consecutive two-year terms as state representatives or senators.[2]

District 1: Troy Jackson will retire due to term limits.
District 24: Eloise Vitelli will retire due to term limits.
District 28: Ben Chipman will retire due to term limits.

District 15: Matt Pouliot will not seek re-election.[3]
District 19: Lisa Keim will retire due to term limits.
District 20: Eric Brakey will retire to become executive director of the Free State Project.[4]
