W.i.S.H. is an Indian girl group. The group consists of four members: Ri(Riya Duggal),Sim(Simran Duggal), Zo(Zoe Siddharth)and Suchi(Suchita Shirk). [2][3]
W.i.S.H. debuted on 1 March 2024, with their first single "Lazeez" (Urdu for "delicious" or "tasty").[3] The single is a part of the band's debut eight-track album.[4] The group uses a blend of English and Hindi languages. It emphasises the fusion of international pop music with distinct Indian elements.[5]
The group's name, W.i.S.H, is an acronym for the phrase "World Inka Stage Hai" (Hindi: वर्ल्ड इनका स्टेज है, lit. 'The world is their stage').[6] The name is also a play on the Hindi word विष which means poison.
Ri and Sim are sisters, and have collaborated earlier in the duo Simetri. They were announced among the Top 24 in the nationwide hunt for English-language artists from across India due to their early successes in with Hindi pop releases. The duo released many tracks. Notable names include Infinity, Ego, Dreamers In The Sun.[10] They performed at Lollapalooza in 2023.[11] Ri, the older of the two sisters, is the group leader of the band.[12]
Zo was a part of duo Zoe & Urgen before joining W.i.S.H. She released music with Urgen, her partner.[13]
