Veshkaymsky District
Veshkaymsky District (Russian: Вешка́ймский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the western central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,435.5 square kilometers (554.2 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Veshkayma.[1] Population: 19,801 (2010 Census);[3]23,355 (2002 Census);[8] 25,802 (1989 Census).[9] The population of the administrative center accounts for 33.4% of the district's total population.[3]
