Kargapolsky District
Kargapolsky District (Russian: Каргапольский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kurgan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,220 square kilometers (1,240 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Kargapolye.[1] Population: 31,832 (2010 Census);[2] 34,854 (2002 Census);[7] 38,518 (1989 Census).[8] The population of Kargapolye accounts for 26.5% of the district's total population.[2]
