Hasan Ali Mirza

Hasan Ali Mirza Shoja al-Saltana (Persian: حسنعلی میرزا شجاع السلطنه) was a Qajar prince, who held the governorship of the eastern Iranian provinces of Khorasan (c. 1816/17–1823) and Kerman (1827/28–1835).[1] He was one of the younger sons of the shah (king) Fath-Ali Shah Qajar (r. 1797–1834).[2]

Following the death of Fath-Ali Shah in October 1834, several Qajar princes laid claim to the throne, including Hasan Ali Mirza. However, he was soon defeated and captured by an army sent by his brother Mohammad Shah Qajar (r. 1834–1848). He was subsequently sent to the Fars province, where he was blinded and lived in captivity until his death in 1852/53.[3]
