Girl Ray released their first song at age 16, through the singles club of Moshi Moshi Records.[1][2] The group released their debut album, Earl Grey, in 2017 on Moshi Moshi.[1] The album was Stereogum's "Album of the Week".[3] and received positive reviews.[4] The band released their second album, Girl, in 2019. The album received mixed reviews.[5][6] In 2023, Girl Ray released their third album through Moshi Moshi, titled Prestige.[7][8] The album received positive reviews.[9][10][11]
