Corynoneura is a speciose genus of non-biting midges in the subfamilyOrthocladiinae of the bloodworm familyChironomidae. With a world-wide distribution (absent from Antarctica), these small midges are found in both flowing and standing freshwater of various thermal regimes.[1]
