Early life and high school

Fowler-Nicolosi was born and raised in San Diego, California, and relocated to Aledo, Texas his junior year of high school; starting as quarterback for the Aledo Bearcats. During his senior year, he completed 114 out of 171 passing attempts for 2,051 yards with 24 touchdowns and an interception.^[1] In the state championship game, Fowler-Nicolosi threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns, as he helped his high school win.^[2] He was rated a three-star recruit and committed to play college football at Colorado State over offers from Nevada, Arizona, Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee, Oregon State, Pittsburgh and Toledo.^[3]

College career

Fowler-Nicolosi enrolled early at Colorado State to participate in the 2022 spring practices.^[1]

During Fowler-Nicolosi's true freshman season in 2022, he was named as the starting quarterback during the Week 5 game against Nevada due to an injury from starter, Clay Millen.^[4] He finished the season having completed 17 out of 37 passing attempts for 194 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.^[5]

In Week 1 of the 2023 season, Fowler-Nicolosi came in relief for starting quarterback Clay Millen and completed 13 of his 20 pass attempts for 208 yards and two touchdowns with an interception, but the Rams would fall to Washington State.^[6] In Week 3, Fowler-Nicolosi would be named as the starting quarterback for their matchup versus rival Colorado.^[7] During the Week 4 game against Middle Tennessee, he completed 30 out of 43 passing attempts for 321 yards along with two 7-yard touchdown passes to take the 31–23 win.^[8] In the following week, Fowler-Nicolosi would go 26 for 32 on his passes for 462 yards and four touchdowns, with two interceptions, along with a touchdown on the ground, as he helped Colorado State beat Utah Tech.^[9]
