It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south-west of Stara Kamienica, 16 kilometres (10 mi) west of Jelenia Góra, and 111 kilometres (69 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.
During World War II, the Germans established and operated a forced labour camp in the village, in which they imprisoned Italian and Sovietprisoners of war.[2] The prisoners lived and worked in poor sanitary conditions, and were forced to exhausting labour.[2]
