Antabamba District

Antabamba (in hispanicized spelling) or Antapampa (Quechua anta copper, pampa plain, "copper plain") is one of the seven districts of the Antabamba Province in Peru.[1]

The Wansu mountain range traverses the province. Some of the highest peaks of the province are listed below:[2]

Ethnic groups edit

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (69.83%) learnt to speak in childhood, 29.36% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[3]
