Bušovce (German: Bauschendorf[5]) is a village and municipality in Kežmarok District in the Prešov Region of northern central Slovakia.

Geography edit

The municipality lies at an altitude of 593 meters and covers an area of 9.03 km2. It has a population of 306 people (as of 31 December 2015).[citation needed]

History edit

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1286.

In 1910 the village had 441 mainly German inhabitants of Lutheran confession.[6] It was part of the German language island of the Oberzips. At the end of World War II the German population was expelled according to the Beneš decrees.[7]

Most important sights to see are the evangelical neo gothic and Roman Catholic gothic churches and a baroque manor house.
