The Mystery of the Strange Bundle

The Mystery of the Strange Bundle is a children's novel written by Enid Blyton and published in 1952. It is the tenth book of The Five Find-Outers mystery series.[1]

Plot Summary edit

Mr. Fellows' house is robbed in the middle of the night. Nothing is stolen, but Mr. Fellows is seen fleeing his home while carrying a bundle. The next morning the house is found to be in disarray, and is put under police seal.

Mr. Fellows returns to his home two days later, and the Five Find-Outers go to interview him. They find nothing out of the ordinary, except that his house is now neat and tidy. Meanwhile, Fatty disguises himself and throws a bundle of bricks and stones into the river to send and are perplexed even more by a bundle of doll clothes that is concealed in the water. Mr. Goon on a wild goose chase.

The plan works, and the next morning Mr. Goon finds and retrieves a bundle that seems to contain clothing for dolls. Mr. Goon is furious, and throws the wet clothes at Fatty and leaves. However, this is a different bundle, not the one thrown by Fatty. Fatty takes the bundle to his shed, lets it dry, examines it, and discovers that the doll clothing belongs to Mr. Eurycles.

That night a thief enters Fatty's House and begins searching for something, but is scared away by Fatty's dog. The next day, the thief enters Fatty's shed and finds the dry doll clothes. Fatty then calls Superintendent Jenks and tells him everything. It is later discovered that Mr. Eurycles is helping the Police until he is kidnapped, and while being kidnapped, Mr. Eurycles threw his doll out of the car as he was being taken. The Police find the Doll and gives it to Mr. Fellows, who is Mr. Eurycles' assistant. The doll clothes seem to contain valuable intelligence information which the thieves were after.
