Divisiones Regionales de Fútbol in Asturias

The Divisiones Regionales de Fútbol in the Community of Asturias, organized by Real Federación de Fútbol del Principado de Asturias:

  • Primera Asturfútbol, formerly Regional Preferente de Asturias and Primera RFFPA (Level 6 of the Spanish football pyramid)
  • Segunda Asturfútbol, formerly Primera Regional de Asturias and Segunda RFFPA (Level 7)
  • Tercera Asturfútbol, formerly Segunda Regional de Asturias and Tercera RFFPA (Level 8)

Primera Asturfútbol is the first level of the Asturian local football league system. All of the clubs are based in the Principality of Asturias.

The League edit

The league consists of 20 teams in one group. At the end of the season, three teams are promoted to Tercera División RFEF – Group 2. The last three classified are relegated to Segunda Asturfútbol (formerly Primera Regional de Asturias and Segunda RFFPA).

For the current 2023–24 season, CD Racing de La Guía from Fontanía-La Guía, Gijón/Xixón was absorbed by Real Sporting de Gijón, being their second reserve team (Sporting C).

Since the 2018–19 season, the champion of the league qualifies for the Copa del Rey. And since the 2021–22 season, the best non-promoted team to Tercera División RFEF – Group 2 qualifies for the Copa del Rey.

Segunda Asturfútbol is the second level of the Asturian local football league system. It is administered by the Royal Asturias Football Federation.

League format edit

The league is played in two groups of 18 teams each. At the end of the season, the two champions are promoted with the winner of promotion playoff of runners-up (three teams in total). Three clubs in each group are relegated to Tercera Asturfútbol (six in total).

For the current 2023–24 season, eleven teams has promoted from Tercera Asturfútbol to Segunda Asturfútbol: the four groups' winners (CD San Jorge, Navia CF, Rosal FC, Triple A Gijón), the four teams which played the last round of promotion playoff (Argüero CF, Barcia CF B, CD La Manjoya, Condal CF B), CD Santa Marina de Mieres, Fabril CD and Grupo Deportivo Bosco.[1] Juventud Estadio CF and Urraca CF B declined to play in Segunda Asturfútbol, so their places will be filled by the best teams which did not promote from Tercera Asturfútbol.[2]

Tercera Asturfútbol is the third level of the Asturian local football league system. It is also administered by the Royal Asturias Football Federation.

The league is played in four groups, three of 15 teams and one of 14. At the end of the season, the four champions are promoted to Segunda Asturfútbol with the two winners of promotion playoff (six teams in total).

For the current 2023–24 season, twelve new teams join Tercera Asturfútbol: Atlético de Lugones B, CD Cornellana, CD Gijón Perchera FS, CD Los Campos, CD Salesianos Masaveu, Club Siero B, Colegio San Ignacio, Escuela de Fútbol de Viesques, Escuela Fútbol JIN, Fortuna CF, Llaranes CF B and UD La Espina.[3]

Segunda Asturfutfem is the new second level of the Asturian local women's football league system (2023–24 is it inaugural season). All the clubs are based in the autonomous community of Asturias.

The league edit

Former league Femenino Regional de Asturias was split in two new competitions: Primera Asturfutfem (fifth tier, is made up by 10 teams) and Segunda Asturfutfem (sixth tier). Current season Segunda Asturfutfem is made up by 17 teams, divided in two groups.
