Palenque will be a railway station which will be located in Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico. The station will be built on the territory of a former airport, which is between the towns of Palenque and Pakal Ná.
Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced during his 2018 presidential campaign the Tren Maya project. On August 13, 2018, he announced the complete outline. The new Tren Maya put the Palenque station on the route that would connect with Escárcega railway station.[3]
The architecture of the station seeks to align with these aspects and was inspired in its form and materials by elements of ancient art and vernacular architecture.[5]
