This is a list of the largest metropolitan areas in the West Indies, based on official population estimates or projections as of mid-2015. Havana has no official definition of its metropolitan area; the population within its city limits is given instead.
^In 2015, Reynaldo Peguero, the director of the Santiago Development Council (Consejo de Desarrollo de Santiago, CDES), defined the metropolitan area of Santiago as comprising the municipalities of Santiago proper, Baitoa, Licey al Medio, Puñal, Tamboril and Villa González.[7]
