Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 126

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 126 (FMVSS 126) regulates motor vehicle electronic stability control (ESC) in the United States.

Like all other Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, FMVSS 126 is administered by the United States Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The standard establishes performance and equipment requirements for electronic stability control (ESC) systems. The standard applies to passenger cars, multipurpose passenger vehicles, trucks, and buses with a gross vehicle weight rating 4,536 kg (10,000 lbs.) or less.[1]
