Aksaysky District

Aksaysky District, or Aksay Region (Russian: Акса́йский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the western central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,162 square kilometers (449 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Aksay.[1] Population: 102,369 (2010 Census);[3] 88,899 (2002 Census);[7] 73,361 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Aksay accounts for 41.0% of the district's total population.[3]

Platov International Airport, which will serve Rostov-on-Don, located at the stanitsa of Grushevskaya, which has commenced all services on 7 December 2017.[9]
