1794 Virginia gubernatorial election

The 1794 Virginia gubernatorial election was held on 30 November 1794 in order to elect the Governor of Virginia. Incumbent Democratic-Republican member of the Virginia House of Delegates for Spotsylvania County Robert Brooke defeated incumbent Federalist member of Virginia's Executive Council James Wood in a Virginia General Assembly vote.[1]

On election day, 30 November 1794, Democratic-Republican nominee Robert Brooke won the election against Federalist candidate James Wood. Brooke was sworn in as the 10th Governor of Virginia on 1 December 1794.[2]
